Dear friends of IWC,

IWC is taking steps to prevent the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus). Currently, the risk of contracting the COVID-19 virus in Hamilton is low. However, each of us has a role to play in making sure that this remains the case.

Settlement counselling and Employment Counselling:

  • All in-person services will be temporarily suspended. Settlement and Employment Services will be provided over the phone or by Skype.
  • If you have an appointment booked for Monday, March 16th or later, please do not come into the IWC office.
  • Your Settlement Counsellor or Employment Counsellor will contact you at the time of your meeting, or in advance to arrange for a Skype meeting.
  • Please feel free to contact your counsellor or the front-desk staff at your site if you have any questions or concerns about meeting by phone or skype.

LINC classes:

  • LINC classes will be closed for March Break from March 16th to 20th, 2020.
  • IWC will continue to monitor the directions and/or guidelines of municipal, provincial and federal health authorities, as well as local school boards.
  • An announcement will be posted by Friday, March 20th regarding LINC classes for the following week.

Other services, volunteers, or drop-in:

  • We ask that you do not drop-in or visit IWC as of March 16th, 2020.
