Care for Newcomer Children

CARE FOR NEWCOMER CHILDREN

LEARNING THROUGH PLAY

ChildmindingThe Immigrant Women’s Centre is proud to offer parents accessing our services a free care program for their children. This program provides a safe space for newcomer children to achieve their full potential during settlement, integration and beyond. Operated under the model of “learning through play”, children engage in activities that foster the development of their social, physical, and intellectual skills. We have registered Early Childhood Educators at each location.

Is my child eligible?

We serve children from 6 months to 6 years of age.  Currently we focus on three age groups: Infants (6 months to 19 months), Toddlers (19 months to 3 years old), and preschool (3 years old to 6 years old). However, we do accommodate for older children as well, offering activities that are appropriate to their age. Our program can accommodate exceptional children as needed.

When are CNC services provided?

Hours of operation for the program are: 9:15 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.  Monday to Friday (excluding holidays or office closure). Services are available at our Main, Rebecca and Fennell offices.
